U'khand sting tape: CBI summons Harish Rawat

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat asked to appear before the CBI on Tuesday in connection with the sting operation probe.

Earlier, the Uttarakhand high court on Friday refused to quash the CBI probe into the sting operation against Rawat who is shown in the video purportedly negotiating a deal to buy support of rebel Congress MLAs.

Justice Sarvesh Kumar Gupta of the Uttarakhand HC had said that quashing the CBI probe into the sting CD at this stage is not possible.

The court had also questioned the authority of the state cabinet which had withdrawn a notification recommending CBI probe into the sting CD soon after Mr Rawat was reinstated in office.
