Union Minister Nitin Gadkari-led BJP delegation on Sunday met President Pranab Mukherjee over Kerala violence issue.

After meeting the President, Gadkari said, Our workers were killed, situation there (Kerala) is not fine. Our delegation met the President over atrocities against RSS and BJP workers, both pre and post elections.

"Police did not take appropriate action. We have been assured of appropriate action by the President," said Gadkari.

A BJP worker had sustained head injuries after he was allegedly hit by a brick following a clash during a victory rally by CPI-M workers at Idavilangu in Kerala on Thursday. He died the next day.
The BJP has been targeting the Left over the alleged attacks on its workers in Kerala in the run up to the polls.
