TMC leader Sovandeb Chattopadhyay on the Didi sweep in West Bengal: This victory is the victory of the people. I had predicted that the TMC would win 200 plus seats. I am overjoyed, Chattopadhyay added.


Our detractors were crying themselves hoarse over the issue of corruption before the election. But to the people of Bengal, the issue of development is of utmost importance.


During the 2014 Lok Sabha election, Saradha was the centre of discussion. But that could not thwart the TMCs progress.


The people of Bengal are intelligent enough to understand which party will cater to their demands. They can decide their fate judiciously.

By reaffirming their confidence in Mamata (Banerjee), the people have proved that neither bad media nor political conspiracy can influence the ballots.


However, now that the verdict is out, the onus rests on the TMC to offer a corruption-free transparent administration to the people of Bengal.

"As a TMC man, I promise to be humble and kind to our Opposition. "Peace should not be disturbed."
