The National Investigation Agency on Friday sought more time from a special court in Mumbai for submiting second supplementary Final Report under Section 173(8) of the Code of Criminal Procedure in the 2008 Malegaon blast case.
Earlier, the agency made it clear that key accused in the case Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur will not be named in the chargesheet as no proof of her involvement in the crime can be found.
The agency will also drop Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act charges against other accused and will charge them under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act instead.
