President cancels visit to Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi

President Pranab Mukherjee has cancelled his visit to the Kashi Viswanath Temple in Varanasi. He will aslo not be attending the morning aarti at the Varanasi ghat on Friday morning. The President will however attend the centenary celebrations of the Benaras Hindu University. The Reason for the cancellation of his visit to the Kashi Viswanath temple is not immediately known.

President Pranab Mukherjee will begin his two-day visit to Varanasi from today. He will today deliver a special lecture at BHU and according to a press release by the University, he will deliver the speech at Swatantrata Bhawan at 6 pm. Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik will be the Guest of Honour and Chancellor of BHU, Dr. Karan Singh will preside over the function.
