SC allows tax dept to reopen 2001 case against Bachchan for KBC income

Just in: Supreme Court allows Income Tax department to reopen the 2001 tax case against Amitabh Bachchan. The SC sets aside the Bombay HC order that gave relief to Bachchan in a tax dispute arising from his income from his show KBC. The IT-Dept had challenged the Bombay HC order in the SC, which gave tax relief to Amitabh Bachchan over case related to his income.

The Income Tax Department which has claimed that the actor owes to it Rs 1.66 crore as taxes on his income he earned through quiz show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' during 2001-02.
