Agusta in LS tomorrow: Will Parrikar better his RS performance?

This morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi heaped praise on Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar for his speech on the AgustaWestland VVIP chopper deal in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.

Taking to Twitter, Modi described Parrikar's address as one of the best speeches. "@narendramodi Yesterday's speech by RM @manoharparrikar in the Rajya Sabha was one of the best speeches, displaying best parliamentary traditions. RM @manoharparrikar rose above politics & placed all relevant facts on the table. Urging you all to hear his speech."

Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Wednesday said the probe in the AgustaWestland helicopter graft case will focus on those named in the Italian court judgment.

"There is an agreement that corrupt practices were involved in procurement of AgustaWestland helicopters. The previous government recognised these and put on hold the group in 2014, and the present government passed the order," Parrikar said in the Rajya Sabha, replying to a short duration discussion on the issue.
