Hitting out at the Modi government, the Shiv Sena today said that the BJP's change in stand regarding the Hurriyat and Kashmir can be compared to a 'sarda', a chameleon.

In its editorial mouthpiece Saamna, the Uddhav Thackeray-led party, a key ally of BJP said, "The way they have changed their position on Hurriyat and Kashmir, if the same would have been done by the Congress then BJP would have called them agents of Pakistan and would have not allowed Parliament to function."

It further said that now the BJP government is involved in appeasement of Hurriyat leaders whom they had earlier termed as pro-Pakistanis.

"PM Narendra Modi himself had said that he will discuss anything and everything with Pakistan except Kashmir, but now the same government has taken U-turn and have allowed Hurriyat leaders to hold talks with Pakistan government", the editorial said.

The party in its editorial mentioned that the changed position hasn't surprised them as BJP has already changed their old position by aligning with PDP in Kashmir, the same PDP who was supporting Afzal Guru.

Taking a dig at BJP, the editorial said if Congress would have formed an alliance with PDP then the BJP would have criticised them.

Through the editorial, Shiv Sena demanded that the BJP should clarify what secret understanding is going on between them and the Hurriyat leaders.
