The BJP government has taken a decision to get the Parliament prorogued. But this decision will attract a huge expenditure of about Rs 2 crore for the Government of India.

Prorogation means the termination of a session of the House by an order made by the President under article 85(2)(a) of the Constitution. Usually, prorogation follows the adjournment of the sitting of the House sine die.

Each time when the Parliament is prorogued, the following session is said to be a new session altogether. So, to convene a new session there are set procedures, protocols which cost the  government a hefty buck.

The Parliament security has been caught up with the prorogation procedure. This means new security passes which cost the exchequer Rs 15000 will be issued. The security office worked overnight to get the fresh passes made. About time the Parliament Security systems finds a way to avoid the wastage of issuing photo ID passes.
