Poll shows Trump is ahead of Hillary

A new poll shows Donald Trump is ahead of Hillary Clinton for the first time in the presidential race.

According to Rasmussen Reports, the billionaire has the support of 41 per cent of the American voters while the former Secretary of State has just 39 per cent.

The latest survey results have Trump leading Clinton for the first time since last October. 'Trump now has the support of 73 per cent of Republicans, while 77 per cent of Democrats back Clinton,' the report states.

'But Trump picks up 15 per cent of Democrats, while just eight percent of GOP voters prefer Clinton, given this matchup,' it continues.
