Facing acute financial crunch following prolonged illness of their father, two brothers from UP's Kanpur district wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for help.

The Prime Minister's Office responded to the letter by 13-year-old Sushant Mishra and his 8 year-old brother Tanmay and ensured the treatment of their father Saroj Mishra (50) at the district hospital.

Mishra (50), a resident of Sanjay Gandhi Nagar locality, is suffering from acute asthma for the past two years and had not been able to take up his private job of tailoring for past six months.

Both the children have stopped going to school as the family is unable to pay the fee while the rent of the house is also not paid for past several months.

After the boys sent the letter in January, the PMO responded in February asking the Kanpur District Magistrateto provide medical help to the ailing man.
