AGP-BJP formally announce tie-up for Assam polls

The Bharatiya Janata Party and  Asom Gana Parishad will together contest the upcoming assembly election in Assam. The AGP will contest 24 out of the 126 seats in Assam. 

BJP and other allies will contest on the other seats. Congress has already announced that they will fight alone in the 126 Assembly seats and the All India United Democratic Front announced to fight in 60 seats.

The BJP has also forged an alliance with the Bodoland Peoples Front to jointly fight the Assembly polls in Assam.
