Gun-battle between terrorists and army on in Kashmir

Mukhtar Ahmad reports from Srinagar: A gunfight erupted in south Kashmir Dadsara village after security forces surrounded it this evening following specific information about presence of a group of militants there.

However, as the troops of counter insurgency, Rashtriya Rifles and police jointly surrounded the village, protests erupted there prompting the security forces to use tear smoke and baton charges.

"Firing exchanges are continuing between holed up militants and security forces,' said a senior police officer. More reinforcements have been rushed to the area.
