Chidambaram has explained his stand on Ishrat case: Sonia

A war of words has broken out between the Congress and the BJP with former bureaucrats alleging that the then Home Minister P Chidambaram had put pressure on them to change their affidavits.

Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu also sought an answer from the then home minister P Chidamabram and prime minister Manmohan Singh on why an affidavit on Ishrat Jahan was changed. Responding to the claims, Congress president Sonia Gandhi said, "P Chidambaram has already explained his stand on Ishrat Jahan case. We stand by the explanation. There is nothing new in BJP targeting Congress."
