NCW takes suo motu cognisance of Chennai techie murder case

The National Commission for Women has taken suo motu cognisance of Infosys techie murder case and written to Tamil Nadu director general of police and general manager of Southern Railway seeking an action taken report.

Based on the report, the NCW will take further course of action and, if required, shall constitute an inquiry committee to submit recommendations to the Centre.

Swathi, 24, was found murdered at Nungambakkam railway station in Chennai, triggering an outrage in civil society and among political parties.
