J-K government reviewing CRPF convoy ambush

Mukhtar Ahmad reports from Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir government is reviewing the entire security scenario to prevent any attack on security forces in future.

Addressing the concern of the legislators expressed in the upper house following the attack on the Central Reserve Police Force in south Kashmir, Pampore town on Saturday in which eight jawans were killed and 20 wounded, State Education Minister Naeem Akhtar said, "The government is reviewing the entire security scenario to prevent any attack on security forces in future.' 

Akhtar assured that 'a strategy is being devised to respond to new tactics adopted by the militants'. 

He further said that the attack is a condemnable act, saying that everyone including Prime Minister, union ministers, and chief minister and deputy chief minister have condemned it.

The minister further assured the house that 'the NoKs of the jawans, who lost their lives and those who got injured in the attack, would get compensation as per norms'.
