Former India captain Anil Kumble has been named India's new coach. The Board of Control for Cricket in India held a press conference (much delayed) in Dharamsala.. BCCI president Anurag Thakur has said that Anil Kumble and Ravi Shastri were the frontrunners for the coach's job, which was left vacant since Duncan Fletcher's departure after the 50-overs World Cup last year in Australia.

But it is to Kumble, India's highest wicket-taker, that the post goes to, which he will hold for a year.
