Union minister Ram S Katheria, who triggered a row on Saturday when he was heard saying that 'bhagwakaran' (saffronisation) or 'sanghwad' is good for the country and is bound to happen, on Monday said his remarks had been misinterpreted by the media.

"I just said whatever is good for the nation, we'll accept that; whether its saffronisation or green or red color," the minister told ANI.

"We kept silent for such a long time and never accused anyone but today there is such a condition in this country. Today we need to create a curriculum which increases respect of our country in entire world," Katheria, who represents Agra in Lok Sabha, had said during his speech.

"Reporters told us that some people are saying that our government is saffronising education in the country. I am saying this today: Saffronisation will definitely take place in education and in the country," he added.
