French cop killer shot; hostage child is safe

According to reports, the French cop killer has been shot. The woman's has been body found and the hostage child is safe.

A French police officer has been killed in a knife attack and members of his family possibly taken hostage in the Yvelines suburb outside Paris.

The officer, aged 42, was returning home, out of uniform, when he was stabbed nine times in the abdomen, reported Le Figaro newspaper.
