It's a toss-up between Kapil Sibal and P Chidambaram, as one of them will be appointed the new Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha.

The present LOP, Ghulam Nabi Azad, has been given 24x7 responsibility to bring the Congress back to glory in Uttar Pradesh.

Azad's responsibility is onerous, and it also means that he will have to step down as LOP in Rajya  Sabha to be able to do justice to his new assignment.

Azad's moving out will not, however, mean that there will be any letup in Sonia Gandhi's determination to give the BJP government sleepless nights by opposing it tooth and nail in the Rajya Sabha.

Major changes are also expected in the AICC, especially after the Rajya Sabha setback in Haryana where the entire Congress bandwagon backstabbed Sonia Gandhi in the recently concluded elections to the Upper House.

Party insiders speak of many more new faces being inducted into the AICC by the end of this month.
