Mass shooting in Orlando nightclub; multiple injuries reported

A mass shooting has been reported in a the night club in Orlando, Florida, where an unidentified gunman barricaded himself and hostages inside the club and allegedly shot at least 20 people, reports on social media claim.

The shooting took place at Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando.

People took to Facebook to share information on the shooting. Under the Pulse club post they wrote that the attacker has an assault rifle and is barricaded inside with hostages. Others said that at least 30 people had been shot in the club.

Witnesses report the gunman may have now barricaded himself inside the club, with some reporting he may have a gun.

The club's management have posted on Twitter: "Everyone get out of Pulse and keep running."
