Some Indians were provoked by the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition and the 2002 Godhra riots to establish Al Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent, the Delhi police told a court.
In its chargesheet filed against 17 accused, the Delhi police said some of them traveled to Pakistan and met Lashkar-e-Tayiba terrorists Muhammad Saeed,  Zaki-ur Rehman Lakhvi and other terrorists.
'While delivering jihadi speeches in various mosques, he (the arrested accused Syed Anzar Shah) met Mohammed Umar (one of the absconding accused) and they discussed atrocities on Muslims in India, especially Godhra and Babri Masjid issues,' the chargesheet alleged..
'Umar got impressed with his jihadi ideology and speeches and committed himself to the cause of jihad and expressed the desire to receive arms/ammunition training from Pakistan,' the chargesheet, filed before Additional Sessions Judge Reetesh Singh, said.
