Dr Virendra Tawde, whom the Central Bureau of Investigation was searching in Narendra Dabholkar murder case, was arrested from Mumbai on Friday.

Earlier this month, the CBI had carried out searches in Panvel near Mumbai in Raigad district in connection with the murder of rationalist and anti-superstition crusader Dabholkar.

Dabholkar was shot dead by two unidentified persons near Balgandharva auditorium in Pune while he was on a morning walk on 20 August, 2013. The assailants had reportedly fled on a two-wheeler.
