Hillary Clinton will mark a new chapter in American political history today when she delivers acceptance speech of her nomination as a first woman presidential candidate by a major political party in the US.

In her speech, she is expected to lay down her vision of America and what she intended to accomplish in the next four years if she is elected as the next president of the US in the November general elections.

Clinton, 68, is the first woman to be nominated as a presidential candidate by a major political party -- this breaking into the penultimate glass ceiling of the American political system.

She is facing a tough challenge from Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

On January 20, 2017, she could be the first woman to be sworn in as the president of the US.

The Democratic National Convention said Clinton would be introduced by her daughter Chelsea Clinton.
