Here's what happened after former BJP MP Navjot Singh Sidhu's presser this morning where he outlined the reasons for quitting the Rajya Sabga. While he said he had been told to stay away from Punjab, he refused to comment on whether he was joining the AAP.

And this probably why.


Vijay Sampla, BJP President Punjab, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Parliament soon after the Sidhu press conference got over. Sampla put a formula before the BJP leadership to accommodate Sidhu, which would ensure he stays within the fold.

BJP insiders have sent feelers to Sidhu if he would like to be sent as Ambassador to Canada or UK after the Punjab assembly polls. So far, there has been no response from Sidhu, according to a PUnjab BJP source.


If this is true, it's a huge setback for the AAP, which had welcomed him with open arms.
