Home Minister Rajnath Singh reaches Srinagar for two-day visit

Home Minister Rajnath Singh arrived in Srinagar today and is meeting a delegation from the civil society.

In wake of the violence, which has claimed 45 lives and injured around 3,400, Home Minister Rajnath Singh had announced on Friday that he would visit the curfew-hit area in the Valley on the weekend and meet the people who were affected and try to reach a consensus with them.

Friday was marked with protests after prayers during which one more person died taking the toll to 45. Violence erupted in the Valley after the killing of Hizbul commander Burhan Wani on July 8.
