IAS officer Ratna Prabha is likely to be the Chief Secretary of Karnataka. She succeeds Arvind Jadhav who is on an extension.

Interestingly, since she is empanelled as Secretary to the Government of India, she is keen to come to the Centre, but insists that she should be given the Commerce or Finance portfolio as she is the topper and belongs to the weaker section.

Ratna Prabha is from Andhra Pradesh and will have to take a call whether she wants to join the centre or stay put in Bengaluru. She has  bright chances of becoming the second woman Cabinet Secretary next year. A senior IAS officer quipped that there was politics in all spectrum of the society.
