Erdogan declares 3-month state of emergency in Turkey

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared a three-month state of emergency in Turkey after a failed coup attempt even as he said that other countries could be involved in the attempt to overthrow him.

He said that the organisation of United States-based cleric Fethullah Gulen, who he blames for the coup bid, was itself led by a superior mind.

There could be, Erdogan told Al-Jazeera when asked if other countries could have been involved in the coup bid.

The Gulen organisation has another superior mind, if you will, and the time will come when those connections will be deciphered, he said.

He said that this may not be the may not be the end of coup attempt and there may be more such plans.
