Parliament witnessed stormy scenes over alleged atrocities against Dalits in Gujarat. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said the incident in Una is organised crime against Dalits.

Why was Gujarat Congress silent on Dalit issue, BSP chief Mayawati asked and said the incident was shameful. She also added that no party raises Dalit issues other than the BSP.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi and AAP MP Bhagwant Mann are likely to raise the issue.

Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel and the state social justice minister are likely to visit Una today. Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will also visit the state later. Gujarat has seen violent protests since video emerged of five Dalit men being beaten in Una for allegedly skinning a cow. Seven people tried to commit suicide to protest the incident.
