Controversial Islamic preacher Zakir Naik's 'Peace TV' has been banned in Bangladesh. Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu made the disclosure at a press briefing after a cabinet committee meeting on law and order on Sunday.

The move comes after it was revealed that one of the attackers at the Dhaka cafe in which 22 people, mostly foreigners were killed, was inspired by the teachings and sermons of the Islamic preacher.

Naik is under the scanner in India too, with the government investigating the finances for his charity and also the content of his speeches that are aired through his channel.
