FBI Director James Comey said on Tuesday that the FBI was recommending no charges against Hillary Clinton for her use of a personal email server while secretary of state.

Comey said that no reasonable prosecutor would bring a case against Clinton for her handling of classified information on her private server. But he said Clinton and her staff were extremely careless in their use of email.

The FBIs recommendation to the Justice Department will have an enormous impact on the presidential election.

Attorney General Loretta Lynch said on Friday that she would accept whatever recommendation she received from the FBI.

The FBI is investigating whether the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee and her aides mishandled any classified information on a private email server she used while serving as secretary of state during the first term of President Barack Obama.
