Decision on Rajan's replacement after PM's Africa trip on July 11

The decision on who will replace RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan will take place after Prime Minister Narendra Modi returns from his trip to Africa on July 11. The PM is embarking on a five-day visit to Mozambique, South Africa, Tanzania and Kenya beginning July 7. 

Raghuram Rajan, whose current three-year tenure ends on September 4, refused a second term, saying he wanted to go back to academics.
