The haunting melody, Last Post, plays signalling the end of the Beating Retreat ceremony. The tricolour is brought down as is norm, before sundown. The melody is followed by the timeless Sare Jahan se Achcha.
Buglers sound the Retreat, everybody rises as the tricolour is brought down at Rajpath and on all buildings on Raisina Hill.

As the ceremony ends Raisina Hill lights up!
