'I am well and perfectly fine,' Nationalist Congress Party leader Sharad Pawar tweeted today after 'reports' about his 'death' were widely circulated on social media platforms since Tuesday.

A WhatsApp message was circulated on Tuesday which claimed that Pawar died on Monday morning but the news has been kept secret due to Republic Day.

'Thank for your good wishes,' said the 75-year-old leader who is admitted in a Pune hospital since Sunday evening for 'minor kidney problem' and 'water retention'.

Meanwhile, in Mumbai, NCP's Maharashtra unit president Sunil Tatkare said Pawar is doing 'fine' and will be discharged in the next 1-2 days.
