As BJPs national president elected for the second term, Amit Shah would attend his first public rally in poll-bound Howrah district Monday amid claims by party leaders of disruption from the Trinamool Congress workers.

Senior BJP leaders expected to attend the rally include national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, national secretary Rahul Sinha, state president Dilip Ghosh, state co-conveners Sidharth Nath Singh and Suresh Pujari and MP Babul Supriyo.

While the rally is scheduled to begin at 1 pm, Shah is expected to arrive around 2 pm and leave by 3.30 pm, a leader said.
