In a global first, World Bank embraces zoo in India!

The World Bank usually tames wild economies and helps countries stabilise their fluctuating finances, but in a global first, the banker for the world has gone to a zoo that too in India! In Visakhapatnam, the global bank is extending anassistance of $20 million (Rs 135 crore) to help reconstruct the Indira Gandhi Zoological Park, which got devastated during cyclone Hudhud. 

This is part of the $370 million (Rs 2,508 crore) Andhra Pradesh Disaster Recovery Project for which the bank is extending assistance of $250 million (Rs 1694 crore) from 2015-2020.
