Protesting FTII students released

A Ganesh Nadar/Rediff.com reports: Forty students of the the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, who were detained before the arrival of chairman Gajendra Chauhan were released after he left the campus. Earlier in the day Chauhan had arrived at the campus and formed his new council. The students were not allowed within 100 meters of the building where the meeting was held. A senior student Reema Kaur told Rediff.com, "There were cops everywhere, it was a war-like situation. The students were protesting peacefully but they were not allowed to do so."

FTII was in the news for most of last year as the students protested against
the appointment of Gajendra Chauhan as chairman along with four board members.
