Man in suicide vest shot as he tries to enter Paris police station

Police shot dead a man outside a northern Paris police station. The man was seen flashing a knife while attempting to enter the police station when he was shot. An eyewitness told reporters that the man appeared to be wearing a vest, but police could not confirm whether it was an explosive one. Le Parisian reported that he was wearing an explosives vest.

A French interior ministry official said the man shouted Allah Akbar as tried to enter the police station.

Anna Polonyi, an editor with the International New York Times, posted a picture of a bomb disposal robot apparently being used to inspect the man's body. She said the man had been running towards the building when he was shot at around 12pm local time.
