Jaitley cancels Budget-eve meet with analysts

Times of India reports: Finance minister Arun Jaitley's scheduled meeting with analysts, financial experts and editors on Saturday has been cancelled. 

Initially, a finance ministry official said that Jaitley was to meet analysts and editors to discuss the Economic Survey, which will be tabled in Parliament on Friday, and not the Budget. 

"The chief economic advisor may brief the participants about the economic situation both global and domestic and may also brief about the economic analysis of micro and macro-economic situation made in the survey and likely state of the economy in the coming year and the steps to deal with the same," a finance ministry spokesperson said in the afternoon.

A few hours later, he said that the meeting had been postponed a s Jaitley had other engagements.
