Kanhaiya's bail plea hearing put off to Feb 29

The Delhi police has informed the high court they will seek fresh remand of JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar as two more students have been arrested on a sedition charge.

After this, the HC adjourns the hearing on Kanhaiya's bail plea till February 29, and asks the police to conduct remand proceedings secretly so that the arrested students -- Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya -- are not harmed.

The police tell HC that further police remand of Kanhaiya is necessary for confronting him with other two accused.
