Uplift of poor, farmers' welfare, jobs for youth government's focus: Pranab

President Pranab Mukherjee, addressing members of both Houses at a joint sitting in Parliament said: 'My government in particular is focused on the welfare of poor, farmers and jobs for the youth. 

'My government is determined to making this goal possible through financial inclusion and social security. 

'My government in particular is focussed on 'garibon ki unnati', 'kisano ki samridhi' and 'yuvaon ka rozgar (uplift of the poor, farmers' welfare and employment for youth).'

'My government's innovative initiatives have helped India jump 12 places in the latest rankings by World Bank on ease of doing business,' the President states.

'The Make in India initiative has achieved 39 per cent increase in FDI inflow despite adverse global investment climate,' the President told the Parliament.

'MGNREGA scheme has been revamped to ensure efficient disbursements of wages and creation of productive assets,' he added.'Make in India initiative has achieved 39 per cent increase in FDI inflow despite adverse global investment climate. 

'People's participation in policy making using "mygov" website has now taken firm roots. 

'My government firmly believes that economic development and environmental protection can co-exist.'

'My Government's mission of skilling India has gained momentum; 76 lakh people have been trained last year,' President Mukherjee said. 'In 2015, India witnessed the highest ever generation of electricity,' he added.

'While measures have been taken to eliminate scope of corruption, govt has been unsparing in punishing the corrupt,' the President said. 

'My government is taking the benefits of Digital India to rural India,' Mukherjee said.
