'Strong counter-terrorism measures necessary to eradicate terror' President Mukherjee

Speaking about India's defence status, President Pranab Mukherjee said, 'Let me congratulate the security forces in successfully foiling the attack at the Pathankot airbase.'

He added, 'Terrorism a global threat, strong counter-terrorism measures necessary worldwide to eradicate it completely.'

'Defence procurement procedure has been streamlined with a focus on indigenously designed, developed and manufactured weapon systems,' he said.

'My Govt believes in a prosperous future for our neighbourhood,' President Mukherjee added.

'My Government has continued to pursue a bold and proactive foreign policy,' he added.

'My Government is committed to the principle 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' the world is one family,' the President stated.
