From Iwo Jima to flying the tricolour

For regular watchers of television news, BJP spokesman Sambit Patra needs no introduction.   

But that's not to say he doesn't need an introduction to history and such other stuff.   

During a recent Newshouse debate on Times Now on the HRD ministry's decision to fly the flag in central universities, Patra showed on his iPad a photograph which he said was of six Indian soldiers hosting the tricolour"of Indian jawans, Indian soldiers dying, but holding up the tricolour, at the border'.   

But, points out Shuddhabrata Sengupta in kafila.org, this too was a photoshopped version of the classic Iwo Jiwo photograph by Joe Rosenthal from World War II.
