Amidst reports that Delhi cops were harassing students belonging to the Jawaharlal Nehru University, the police force has issued a statement saying that such reports were untrue. The statement read, "Reports of us harassing Jammu and Kashmir students is a blatant lie. Please do not pay heed to such rumours."

On Sunday reports surfaced that the police have been quietly approaching J-K students in their rented accommodations and subjecting them to questioning.

After the February 9 incident where some anti-India slogans were allegedly raised, police is believed to have collected the names of Kashmiri students which sound similar to the names of the organisers of the Guru event.
