3-day encounter with militants in Pampore ends

The three-day militant operation at Pampore has come to an end. A senior army official confirming the news to Rediff.com said that the bodies of two militants had been recovered. 

The three-day encounter began on Saturday afternoon after militants attacked a CRPF convoy. After the attack, the militants barged into the nearby Entrepreneurship Development Institute in which more than 120 staff and trainees were present at the time of attack.

The senior police official said, "The operation has ended. A search operation is now on to find any other bodies."

Three army commandos, including two captains, were killed on Sunday in the fierce gunfight with the terrorists.
