RJD chief Lalu Yadav has written an open letter to Prime Minister Modi telling him to recognise that 'acche din' have not been delivered for the railways.

'As Suresh Prabhu rises to present 3rd Railway budget, he'd be acutely aware of ground reality, Railways haven't delivered Achhe din,' the RJD chief wrote.

'It is still not too late. The railways has huge untapped potential. It's like a 'Jersey cow'.  Since your Govt has neither milked nor took care of it (railways), it has fallen sick,' Lalu, whose party was pivotal in defeating the BJP in the Bihar assembly elections, wrote to the PM.

'If your Govt does course correction by reversing anti-poor policies, this Jersey cow can be restored back to sound health,' the Yadav wrote.
