Sensex falls to 23K, down 750 points

Sensex falls by 747.59 points, currently at 23,011.31. The BSE Sensex slumped on Thursday as a string of state-run lenders reported disappointing numbers in the December quarter. The broader Nifty came close to breaching the key 7,000 levels for the first time since May 12, 2014. The BSE Sensex is now staring at a fourth consecutive day of triple-digit losses that has hit investor sentiments.
