Delhi reinstates Odd-Even scheme for 15 days from April 15

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal announces the reinstatement of the Odd-Even scheme from April 15 to April 30. Women drivers are exempt.


Reading out the survey results on whether Odd-Even should be reintroduced, he said the government is reviewing public feedback on the scheme with 81% of respondents saying that odd-even scheme should be reintroduced.

The survey says Odd-Even cannot be a permanent plan unless the public transport system is fixed. 60 per cent of respondents want Odd-Even to be a permanent feature.

Transport minister Gopal Rai said that the government will make the announcement on the reinstatement of the scheme after reviewing over 11 lakh responses received from the public through multiple channels.

Deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia suggested that the licence plate policy will be back "once again" while sources said that its next phase could be enforced in April after the CBSE Board examinations.

Majority of respondents have said that VIPs should not be exempt.
