Expressing satisfaction over the action taken by India in the incident of an assault on a 21-year-old Tanzanian girl by a mob in Bengaluru, Tanzanian ambassador John W H Kijazi said he is 'impressed by the concrete measures taken by the Indian government'.

"We are very much impressed by the action taken by the Indian government. Concrete measures have already been taken. What is more important is that we should look into the future," he said.

"We didn't want to dwell very much into discussing the issues of racism. We discussed facts of situation. The government assured me that they are going to continue to take proper measures to make sure the African students are secure," Kijazi said, adding, "My message to African students -- Follow the law of country, live in harmony with local community, respect leadership of state."

Karnataka home minister G Parameshwara said, "The Tanzanian delegation is convinced about the action taken. The entire incident was explained to the Tanzanian ambassador and representatives of the external affairs ministry."

"I have reassured them that such incidents won't happen again," Parmeshwara said.
