Like a scene from Mughal-e-Azam: Owaisi on Modi's tribute to Rohith Vemula

All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen chief, Asaduddin Owaisi, took a dig at the 'theatrics' of PM Narendra Modi at Lucknow university over Dalit student Rohith Vemula's suicide. "It was like watching an emotional movie scene," the AIMIM chief said at a rally in Faizabad today.
The PM had got teary eyed addressing the convocation ceremony at Babasaheb Ambedkar University in Lucknow. He had said, "politics aside, a mother has lost a son, and I feel the pain."
Owaisi accused parties of using Rohith Vemula suicide issue to fulfil their own political aims. "Rohith was a victim of caste discrimination, which is prevalent across educational institutions in the country. Politics over Rohith Vemula's death is fake. The PM got emotional in Lucknow while remembering Rohith... for a moment I thought I was watching a scene from Mugha-e-Azam," said Owaisi.
Owaisi termed the BJP government at the Centre as anti-Dalit and anti-Muslims and claimed that the government was trying to divert attention from real issues by detaining several so called ISIS operatives.
With Assembly elections just a year away in Uttar Pradesh, Owaisi's AIMIM is banking on the Dalit-Muslim vote bank to give a tough fight to the ruling Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samajwadi Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party.
